Cambridge birdsong – a walk in the woods
It is the perfect time for a walk in the woods – Spring has arrived! I am surrounded by the sights and sounds of life in full flow; the sun is warm, the leaves are bursting forth and the birds are celebrating with song. My favourite time of year has arrived, Spring!
Forget the email, reading the Sunday paper or manly domestic details! Get my priorities be in place, celebrate Spring with the birds and go for a walk in the woods!
The birdsong was beautifully intense, arriving from all sides.
Blackbird, thrush, wren, green woodpecker, even lambs in the distance. I just had to share it.
To record and share it, I used my shiny new hi-tech phone to try the audio recorder app. Nothing fancy, just the phone by itself. When I played it back on headphones, it sounded true to life.
Then using the fantastic free technology of Audacity ( it has many of the facilities of a recording studio ) I reduced the background noise, filtered out the passing bus and selected just under 3 minutes for your enjoyment.
If you have not had the opportunity to enjoy Nature or hear the Voice of Spring near you, enjoy the recording above.
Imagine you are in the woods, relaxed and without a care in the world. No stress, enjoy your Right to be Happy.
I love the vibrant energy of Spring. Forceful yet gentle, bright and fresh, the start of a new life cycle.
Let me know if you enjoy it.
